INFO:

It may seem like the tallow trend has only recently surfaced, but using tallow as a moisturizer has been practiced for centuries and used in ancient civilizations like the Egyptians and Babylonians.

Our lip balm was created with a blend of powerhouse oils that provide a natural SPF of 25-30 that is entirely plant-powered and skin safe, locally sourced beeswax, shea butter, grass-fed Wyoming beef tallow that is 100% hormone and antibiotic free, and grapefruit essential oil for an entirely natural burst of juicy flavor.

*This product is all natural, completely free of alcohols, phthlalates, parabens, SLS & SLES, silicones and preservatives.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Apply liberally to lips as often as you please! Tallow has a natural shelf life of about 1 year. It is safe to store on the counter in your bathroom or in your purse, but if you happen to not use it all within a year, you can double its lifespan by storing it in the fridge.

ingredients:

100% grass-fed wyoming beef tallow

What you put on your skin is just as important as what you put into your body, so we source the best ingredients from the healthiest cows. All of our beef fat is sourced from a small, reputable, family-owned ranch in Pinedale, Wyoming, USA (Deep Roots Beef). Their beef is grass-fed and 100% hormone and antibiotic free. It is then rendered in-house and twice filtered to form the purest of tallow, free of any impurities.

  • Tallow’s rich fatty acid content consists of oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linoleic acids, which help trap moisture in the skin & help heal the flakiest of dry skin.

  • Helps promote cell regeneration with its Vitamin A, D, E & K content.

  • Vitamin A, also known as retinol in skincare products, manages acne by regulating skin’s oil production.

  • Vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin, is present in tallow and essential in skin cell repair, regrowth, and makes your skin resilient while evenly toned.

  • Vitamin E’s main job is to protect skin from free radicals, which are rogue molecules that cause cell damage and lead to signs of aging. It also helps provide protection against UV rays, moisturizes, and minimizes inflammation, creating a smooth, clear complexion.

  • Vitamin K aids in the body’s natural healing process. It helps reduce spider veins, under-eye circles, bruises, stretch marks and scars.

  • Soothes skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and acne naturally.

  • Enhances skin’s elasticity, plumping up fine lines and wrinkles and tightening the surface of the skin.

raspberry seed oil

Pressed raspberry seed oil has a natural SPF of 28-50 and acts as a broad spectrum UV protectant. The vast range in the level of protection depends on the harvest, much like grapes affect the quality of its wine.

  •  Protects skin from damage that occurs due to a process called oxidative stress caused by an excess of free radicals in our bodies.

  • Has a natural shelf life of up to 2 years.

  • Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids found in this oil are known to greatly reduce acne, dermatitis, and other skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

  • Has a high level of phytosterols, which create a lipid barrier that reduces transepidermal water loss (moisture escaping from our skin).

  • It is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores.

  • Rich in Vitamin C, raspberry seed oil helps to fade dark spots and even out your skin tone.

  • Boasts an intoxicating scent, naturally.

    COCONUT OIL

Coconut oil (with an SPF of 7-10) smells heavenly and is anti-aging with its bounty of antioxidants. It, like the other oils, is readily absorbed into your skin while at the same time creates a protective barrier on the surface, locking in moisture & keeping out the harmful environmental stressors.

  • Composed of a unique combo of natural fats: Linoleic acid, which fortifies the skin’s barrier, protecting it from free radicals like UV rays and air pollutants, and unclogs pores by pulling out dirt and dead skin cells. The other is lauric acid, up to 50%, which is hydrating and microbial. This combo reduces the growth of bacteria under the skin’s surface.

  • Its antimicrobial properties help kill bacteria on the skin that causes body odor.

  • In an 8-week study, the use of coconut oil on dry skin notably reduced transepidermal water loss (moisture escaping from the layers of your skin) and outperformed mineral oil, which is a favored ingredient for skin hydration by board-certified dermatologists.

  • Strengthens the skin barrier, which is particularly beneficial for people who struggle with eczema or very dry skin.

  • Reduces inflammation and soothes skin, making it a wonderful healer for burn wounds or other wounds that will likely produce scars.

baobab oil

Baobab oil is made from the seeds of the impressive baobab tree in Senegal, Africa. These seeds are exceptionally rich in concentrated nutrients like polyphenols, antioxidants, Vitamins A & E, and omega fatty acids. All which help protect your skin from damaging elements, naturally.

  • Supports a healthy skin barrier by locking in the moisture, which in turn slows signs of aging, and reduces redness and flaking.

  • Baobab oil preserves collagen, preserving strength and elasticity by countering the effects of excess free radical production in your skin.

  • Gently cleanses your skin by breaking down clogged dirt and impurities in your pores naturally without alcohols or harsh chemicals.

  • It is microbiome friendly, meaning it does not attack the healthy bacterial environment on your skin. Most skincare products disrupt this microbial balance while baobab oil’s fatty acids help the skin’s lipid layer composition, which is crucial in preserving the skin microbiome.

  • Fights acne! It is lightweight, does not clog pores, and hydrates your skin effectively to prevent excess fat/sebum production which leads to acne.

  • Its rich content of omega fatty acids help soothe inflammation caused by eczema and psoriasis.

  • Neutralizes free radicals & reduces damage from UV rays.

shea butter

Shea butter is a staple in lip care, because it is a natural emollient, which locks in moisture and hydrates any rough, cracked skin.

  • Rich in Vitamins A & E, shea nourishes your lips’ delicate skin and provides antioxidant protection against harmful free radicals.

  • Has a natural shelf life of up to 2 years.

  • Creates a natural protective barrier over the skin to protect from harsh climates.

  • Has anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe irritated or inflamed lips.

  • Has a delightful natural scent.

beeswax

Locally and sustainably sourced beeswax from Casper, WY (Hat Six Honey).

  • Hydrates, soothes, conditions and calms the skin.

  • Exfoliates, repairs damage, promotes cell rejuvenation, diminishing signs of aging & creates a protective barrier against environmental pollutants.

  • Soothes itchiness and irritation while retaining moisture in the skin.

  • Prevents harmful bacteria from entering the body through chapped & broken skin.

  • Has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that benefit those who suffer from skin ailments or allergies.

  • Contains limonene, which is a natural antioxidant.

  • Promotes supple, soft skin, preventing your lips from chapping.

  • Has antiseptic and disinfecting properties to keep your lips clean and free of bacteria.
