SERPENT LIP BALM
INFO — DIRECTIONS FOR USE — INGREDIENTS & BENEFITS
INFO:
It may seem like the tallow trend has only recently surfaced, but using tallow as a moisturizer has been practiced for centuries and used in ancient civilizations like the Egyptians and Babylonians.
Our lip balm was created with a blend of powerhouse oils that protect and heal your skin the plant-powered way. It is made with grass-fed Wyoming beef tallow that is 100% hormone and antibiotic free, locally sourced beeswax, shea butter, and an effective blend of oils that create a natural analgesic (numbing effect for pain relief) and combats sores and blisters.
*This product is all natural, completely free of alcohols, phthalates, parabens, SLS & SLES, silicones and preservatives.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Apply liberally to lips as often as you please! Especially when you feel the tingle that something might be popping up. Tallow has a natural shelf life of about 1 year. It is safe to store on the counter in your bathroom or in your pocket, but if you happen to not use it all within a year, you can double its lifespan by storing it in the fridge.
Do NOT INGEST THIS PRODUCT; FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY!
ingredients:
CASTOR OIL
Castor is the anti-problematic oil! It has anti-inflammatory & antibacterial properties as well as antioxidants that create a trifecta of protection that not only combats our bodies’ harsh internal environments and skin/pore infections, but helps heal existing inflammation in the skin which is the cause of swelling, redness, flakiness, itchiness, etc.
With its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, it helps speed up the process of healing wounds and infections in our pores.
Its ricinoleic acid acts as an analgesic agent (numbing, pain reliever) that works as an anti-inflammatory and helps cure inflamed skin caused by infections or dryness.
Contains triglycerides that help maintain moisture in the skin. It works as a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the surrounding air into the skin, keeping it hydrated. These triglycerides are also helpful in removing dirt from the skin.
Draws out dirt, dead skin cells, excess oils and bacteria without drying out your skin like alcohols, benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
Its emollient properties allow it to penetrate and be easily absorbed deep into your skin, stimulating the production of elastin and collagen which in turn plump your skin and increase elasticity.
Helps the body produce the proper levels of lymphocytes – a type of white blood cell found in our immune systems that attack bacteria & toxins. These little fighter cells are then released into the lymphatic tissue from our lymph nodes, thymus gland and tissue from the small intestine. This helps improve our immune system functions such as lymphatic drainage, thymus gland health and blood flow.
Contains undecylenic acid which is an antifungal agent that kills ringworm, athlete’s foot, and yeast infections.
COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil smells like a vacation and is anti-aging with its bounty of antioxidants. It, like the other oils, is readily absorbed into your skin while at the same time creates a protective barrier on the surface, locking in moisture & keeping out the harmful environmental stressors.
Some studies have shown that it has a natural SPF of about 7, helping keep you protected even if you happen to forget your sunscreen!
Composed of a unique combo of natural fats: Linoleic acid, which fortifies the skin’s barrier, helping to protect it from free radicals like UV rays and air pollutants, and unclogs pores by pulling out dirt and dead skin cells. The other is lauric acid, up to 50%, which is hydrating and microbial. This combo reduces the growth of bacteria under the skin’s surface.
In an 8-week study, the use of coconut oil on dry skin notably reduced transepidermal water loss (moisture escaping from the layers of your skin) and outperformed mineral oil, which is a favored ingredient for skin hydration by board-certified dermatologists.
Strengthens the skin barrier, which is particularly beneficial for people who struggle with eczema or very dry skin.
JOJOBA OIL
Jojoba oil is technically not an oil, it is a wax ester on a molecular level that mimics natural human sebum in the skin. It is safe for daily use and seals in moisture.
Contains naturally occurring docasonol, an active ingredient that is found in over-the-counter cold sore creams. Full of fatty acids that help reduce inflammation in the skin.
Its Vitamin E content helps speed up cell rejuvenation, which helps heal any existing skin ailments, sunburns, reduce appearance of scars, and also works as an anti-aging ingredient.
Because of its likeliness to our natural sebum that our bodies produce, it deeply penetrates the skin very quickly and will not leave a greasy residue.
Vitamins A, B & E, omega-3 fatty acids, copper, zinc, chromium and flavonoids all work together to help protect the skin from effects of oxidative stress and sun damage.
Rich in antioxidants, it is believed to encourage collagen synthesis – a natural process that keeps us supple when we’re young and slows way down as we age.
Because it is wax, it not only penetrates & moisturizes, but it seals that moisture in and protects the skin’s barrier from free radicals in the air.
RASPBERRY SEED OIL
Here is a study done on the efficacy of raspberry seed oil regarding sun protection.
Protects skin from damage that occurs due to a process called oxidative stress caused by an excess of free radicals in our bodies.
Has a natural shelf life of up to 2 years.
Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids found in this oil are known to greatly reduce acne, dermatitis, and other dry skin conditions and rashes.
Has a high level of phytosterols, which create a lipid barrier that reduces transepidermal water loss (moisture escaping from our skin).
It is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores.
Rich in Vitamin C, raspberry seed oil helps to fade dark spots and even out your skin tone.
Boasts an intoxicating scent, naturally.
100% grass-fed wyoming beef tallow
What you put on your skin is just as important as what you put into your body, so we source the best ingredients from the healthiest cows. All of our beef fat is sourced from a small, reputable, family-owned ranch in Pinedale, Wyoming, USA. Their beef is grass-fed and 100% hormone and antibiotic free. It is then rendered in-house and twice filtered to form the purest of tallow, free of any impurities.
Tallow’s rich fatty acid content consists of oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linoleic acids, which help trap moisture in the skin & help heal the flakiest of dry skin.
Helps promote cell regeneration with its Vitamin A, D, E & K content.
Vitamin A, also known as retinol in skincare products, manages acne by regulating skin’s oil production.
Vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin, is present in tallow and essential in skin cell repair, regrowth, and makes your skin resilient while evenly toned.
Vitamin E’s main job is to protect skin from free radicals, which are rogue molecules that cause cell damage and lead to signs of aging. It also helps provide protection against UV rays, moisturizes, and minimizes inflammation, creating a smooth, clear complexion.
shea butter
Shea butter is a staple in lip care, because it is a natural emollient, which locks in moisture and hydrates any rough, cracked skin.
Rich in Vitamins A & E, shea nourishes your lips’ delicate skin and provides antioxidant protection against harmful free radicals.
Has a natural shelf life of up to 2 years.
Creates a natural protective barrier over the skin to protect from harsh climates.
Has anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe irritated or inflamed lips.
Has a delightful natural scent.
