When you plant something, you invest in a beautiful future amidst a stressful, chaotic, and at times, downright appalling world.

This was by far one of my favorite collections to put together. Not only do plants provide a touch of natural beauty and a sense of tranquility to your home, they also reduce stress levels and enhance mood, promoting a healthier & more positive living environment. Additionally, tending to plants fosters a sense of responsibility, provides a rewarding hobby, and creates an opportunity for individuals to connect with nature even within the confines of their homes. With all the physical and psychological benefits, it’s really a no-brainer! Here are my top aesthetic plant picks so you, too, can exercise that green thumb & breathe a breath of fresh air.

THE GREEN THINGS

You’re going to notice that most of my choices for foliage are those that require little care, aka borderline neglect. Ha! The cacti and succulents thrive in harsh, dry conditions, meaning you only have to water once every 1-2 weeks. The key here is having the correct amount of sunlight and proper drainage. The soil needs to dry out completely before getting re-hydrated for best results, so soils with high water-retention are not what you’re looking for.

This rat tail cactus is absolutely stunning when it blooms! Only problem for me is that I’m very tactile & would be tempted to run my fingers along its tails. This would make for an eye-catching piece hanging next to your favorite piece of artwork or by a window where it can really soak in that natural light.

Rat Tail Cactus Plant with Pink Flowers

Rat Tail Cactus Plant now on sale for $17.99

This one here comes in a variety pack of 10 succulents, each one different. You guys, I am having such a hard time not buying everything on this list…

Succulent Variety Pack

Succulent Variety Pack of 10 for $12.99 — NO TWO ALIKE!

Blue creeping thyme is a fast-spreading ground cover that attracts beneficial insects, meaning it helps keep the rest of your garden healthy & pest-free! Not to mention, its elegant aesthetic and bold color is a huge plus. Imagine waves of blue flower blossoms floating around your home…

The Cotyledon Pendens is a rare succulent that blooms beautiful peach-colored bells. It grows quite fast and is easy to propagate, so in a year you could have a bushel of these beauties!

Cotyledon Pendens Rare Succulent

Cotyledon Pendens Succulent — 2” pot for $6.25

The Pink Variegated Tradescantia Nanouk gets watered once a week & likes indirect light by bright, sunny windows.

Reminiscent of a tiger, this rare Haworthia Fasciata succulent requires very minimal care & ships from a small business. Support small!

The String of Pearls is another succulent that looks striking hanging suspended in the air. Also, I must note that it is toxic to pets, so up higher is really the best option if you have fluffballs running around. Below I’ve listed both the non-variegated and variegated options.

This prickly little thing is the Santa Rita purple prickly pear cactus. The pads arrive green and with sun exposure they turn purple & stay that way. I’m absolutely in love with this cactus!

PLANTERS THAT POP

Now here’s the trick… picking the perfect pot to plant your babies in will make or break the growth of the plant as well as the overall aesthetic. Drainage hole vs. no drainage hole makes a world of difference! Cacti and succulents need a drainage hole since they are drought-resistant and love to dry out. Plants that need lots of moisture should be put in pots with no hole in order to retain moisture. Makes sense, right?

I just adore these sculpted babes! They remind me of little garden nymphs and come in all different skin colors. All three versions come with drainage holes.

I’m a sucker for color and visual texture. These little terracotta succulent planters come in a set of 5, all different glazed colors as shown, and have drainage holes.

It wouldn’t seem so, but a good hanging planter is hard to come by. You have to think about the drainage system if you’re going to be hanging them indoors & these are made to catch all the water that seeps through the internal planter. They are actually self-watering with 2 wicks attached to the internal planter that dip down into the water catch and keep your plant nice & hydrated, so you can leave town & not sweat over your leafy babies. These come in a set of 2 and a variety of color combos.

This boho beauty is a larger ceramic pot and comes with a wooden stand. I couldn’t help myself… I bought this one for my money tree, which is perfect since it has a drainage hole and a built-in tray so the water doesn’t seep out onto the floor.

Here’s another beautifully crafted ceramic planter with a wooden stand. Something about a plant sitting off the floor just sits very nicely with me. This one does have a drainage hole, but you’ll need a tray for it to sit on if you plan on keeping it indoors.

These terracotta planters in black and white had my name written all over them. Yep, got these too! They come in a set of two & have drainage holes.

Sculptured planters are so cute & kitschy! These giraffes come in a set of two & have drainage. I’m heavily partial to these spotted longnecks, but there are other animal options like cows, llamas and goats. LOOOVE!!

Another boho style option with a drainage hole & built-in water tray.

This Tuscan ceramic scroll planter has no drainage, but I do adore its antique vibe. It could also be used as a vase or just a decor piece since it looks like it came from a museum.

Plant Accessories that just make beautiful sense

This vintage glass plant mister is both functional and decorative, which immediately caught my attention! Succulents love a nice misting, and so do I on hot days.

This 5-tier plant display table is made of pine wood & can help consolidate your plants (for those of us who may be running out of foliage space) while creating a nice visual density of greenery. These are also available in 3-tiered and black color options.

The propagation station! Who says propagating plants has to look messy? This bulb design is enticing and gives me mad plant scientist vibes.

Increase the green & turn your plant cuttings into wall art! The glass vials are a sleek touch & allow you to easily monitor the root growth, so you’ll know when it’s prime time to stick them into some soil.

Let your vines creep all over the walls & ceilings of your house in style, and without putting holes in the drywall! These clips come with adhesive stickers so you can just pop them on anything you want your vines climbing on. I really like the incognito leaf design… it doesn’t break the continuity of the plant, because who wants an eyesore in the middle of their natural masterpiece?!

Ever been to a restaurant with an entire wall covered in plants? Now you can have that same aesthetic in your home garden! This product is cool because the fabric is made of 100% recycled plastic bottles, meaning that not only is the production of these reducing plastic bottle waste, but they are UV resistant and will last a lifetime.

Banana hammocks? Not quite, but close. Hang your favorite plants from these so that they can always be the center of attention.

Another space saving eyecatcher. Vertical displays of plants seem to be something I’m very passionate about. I’m more into the hanging versions, because it helps create ample floor space in your home without making it look empty.

The natural combination of rattan and plants will always be one of my favorites.

This potting tool is essential if you live in a condo or apartment and don’t have a lawn to go out & re-pot your plants. The foldable tray is waterproof and portable, so you can stow it away from sight when you’re done making a (contained) mess.

The pole is telescopic and the gooseneck heads can rotate 360 degrees so you can easily adjust the perfect setting to shine light on all the right places. The lights are red and white spectrum LEDs, simulating natural light to help plants photosynthesize and promoting new growth, because sometimes the natural light just isn’t sufficient for indoor plants. Especially beneficial for growing fruits/veggies or herbs.

I hope I’ve inspired you to get that home jungle growing! It really is a breath of fresh air (literally and figuratively) when you walk into a place full of real plants. I know some are fearful of killing them off, but you know what? One or three might die… You get one plant to thrive, then you do it again, and then you get addicted & you end up like me, salivating over succulents to add to the collection. It’s worth a shot! :)
